DJS Woodcraft, LLC is a premier provider of high-quality cabinetry and custom furniture, proudly serving Kalispell, Montana, and the surrounding Flathead Valley. Founded in 2021 by Derrick Salmela, our business is built on a passion for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.

Derrick’s journey into woodworking began long before establishing DJS Woodcraft. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, he pursued a Master’s Degree in Security Management from American Military University and dedicated eight years to the Department of Homeland Security. Despite a successful career in security, his lifelong love for woodworking and design led him to follow his true calling—creating custom, handcrafted pieces that bring warmth and functionality to homes and businesses.

At DJS Woodcraft, we take pride in crafting exceptional cabinetry and furniture tailored to our clients’ needs. Whether it’s custom-built cabinets, unique furniture pieces, or refinishing and refacing projects, every detail is carefully considered to ensure quality, durability, and timeless design. Our mission is simple: to deliver superior craftsmanship with integrity and professionalism, exceeding expectations in every project.

When he’s not in the workshop, Derrick and his family embrace Montana’s outdoor lifestyle—fishing, hunting, sailing, and camping—drawing inspiration from the beauty of the Flathead Valley.
